CUSTOMS and the Federals are off to a strong start in the 2026 Priority Care Inter Business/Government League after defeating their respective opponents during Saturday’s games, collecting their first wins of the season at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

The first game of the day was claimed by Customs as they overpowered CUC, 69-55.

Customs set the tone from the opening quarter, highlighted by strong team chemistry and crisp ball movement. Paul Quizon and Dominic Pangelinan led the opening minutes with five and six points, respectively, while Jude Tengco and Don Teregeyo later joined the fray to establish a comfortable cushion. Their defensive rotation was also a factor, frustrating CUC’s shooters, as only Ray Olopai and Isaac Balbin could find the bottom of the net. CUC fell to a double-digit deficit by halftime, 38-26.

CUC attempted to claw back in the third quarter, matching Customs point for point with Frank Nakamura, Jester Taisacan, and Joe Santos chipping in on the offensive end. Despite their efforts, however, they could never find the scoring run needed to bridge the gap.

Customs utilized their bench effectively, ensuring fresh legs kept the pressure high in the fourth quarter. Pangelinan and Quizon picked up where they left off with four points apiece, solidifying Customs’ 69-55 victory over CUC.

Feds vs Tan Holdings

In the second game of the day, the Feds walked away with a gritty 85-79 victory over Tan Holdings.

The Feds controlled most of the first half, utilizing a balanced attack from Chris Sanchez and Tim Wesley in the opening quarter, while Jeff Che and Leo Apelo took over in the second to build a double-digit lead, 41-31.

Tan Holdings attempted to turn the tide in the fourth and final period as Henry Aguon and Gino Andon combined for 28 points, hitting critical shots down the stretch to keep the pressure on. The Feds’ discipline was tested as several players found themselves in foul trouble. Still, they kept their composure and, despite being outscored in the quarter, held on to secure the six-point win, 85-79.
