(CHCC) — The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation, Division of Public Health Services, is excited to announce that nine children recently graduated from the Healthy Outcomes for Maternal and Early Childhood or H.O.M.E. program. Families received parenting support and education services along with assistance in connecting to various resources in the community.

The H.O.M.E. Visiting Program provides a nationally recognized, evidenced-based home curriculum to families in the CNMI. These services support strengthening a family’s role as their child’s first teacher and in creating a safe and healthy environment for young children. A home visitor may work with a family from pregnancy until a child turns 3 years of age with an option to stay in the program until the age of 5. Some examples of services families may receive include:

• Helping with access to prenatal care

• Connecting families to resources in the community

• Helping parents access preventative medical visits for their infants and/or children

• Transportation assistance to medical care

• Learning parenting skills to create a safe and healthy environment at home

Through consistent and scheduled home visits, parents and caregivers are supported towards improving their family’s health and provide better opportunities for their children.

The staff and management of the CHCC H.O.M.E. visiting program would like to wish all the graduates and their families the best.

The HOME Visiting Program began in 2013 and has served over 600 families in the CNMI. The program is free of charge and is available on Saipan, Tinian and Rota. For more information on enrolling in the HOME visiting program,  call (670) 664-8701/2 or email  yuline.fitial@chcc.health/.
