THE Ol’Aces are off to a strong start in the Majors Division of the 2025 Saipan Little League Baseball after defeating the Falcons II, 19-9, at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Softball Field on Saturday.
The Falcons II came out as the aggressor, forcing the Ol’Aces into three consecutive outs in the first inning while scoring three runs, thanks to Ben Lisua Jr.’s two-RBI single, to take an early 3-0 lead.
The Ol’Aces shook off their early-game jitters and mounted a rally in the second inning, scoring eight runs off defensive errors for an 8-3 lead.
The Ol’Aces continued to ride the momentum in the third inning as Jesse Ramon and Ramon Cruz each earned an RBI single during a six-run scoring spree to extend their team’s lead.
In the bottom half, the Falcons II fought back, with Tate Maglona and Ben Lisua Jr. each hitting an RBI single and a two-RBI single, respectively, during a six-run surge to close the gap, 14-9.
However, the Falcons II failed to contain their opponents in the top of the fourth inning, as the Ol’Aces scored five runs to take a double-digit lead, 19-9.
The Falcons II had one last chance to get back into the game, but they only managed to get a runner to third base before the Ol’Aces collected the three outs needed to secure their debut win.
Joining the winner’s circle were the Comets, which outplayed the Cobras, 9-6.
