JOE I. Sablan topped the Saipan Golf Association’s February Ace of the Month Tournament on Feb. 23, after shooting a net score of 67 at the Kingfisher Golf Links.
Sablan shot a gross score of 44 on the front nine and carried most of the momentum onto the back nine with a gross score of 48, for a total gross score of 92. His handicap of 25 allowed him to secure first place with a net score of 67.
The battle for second place was a three-way tie among Rick Kautz, Jung Eun Teack, and Philip Sablan, who all had a net score of 72.
With a gross total of 88, Kautz claimed second place, while Teack settled for third with a gross total of 94, and Philip Sablan took fourth with a gross total of 91.
In the optional play, the Closest to the Pin winners were Joe Sablan for hole #6, Freddy Cataluna for hole #8, Philip Sablan for hole #12, and Ed Manibusan for hole #15.
In the Longest Drive, Freddy Cataluna reigned supreme on holes #9 and #10.
