DPS to enforce license plate regulations

THE Department of Public Safety has announced that it will begin enforcing compliance with the license plate regulations starting 30 days from March 19, 2025, or April 18, 2025.

According to a notice, DPS said it will take action against vehicles with worn-out, dealer-issued, or temporary plates that have not been replaced or updated.

The department’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles also informed the public that the Motor Vehicle Division has received a new shipment of license plates.

“Vehicle owners with worn-out (illegible from 50 feet), dealer-issued, or temporary plates must visit the BMV to obtain new ones and/or replace their plates,” DPS stated.

“Please check with BMV staff, as fees may apply,” DPS added.

This notice also serves as a formal compliance reminder.
