EMON Lodge No. 179 on Saturday installed new officers in solemn rites at Grandvrio Resort Saipan’s Fiesta Hall.

Raul V. Abordonado, a businessman and technician, was elected worshipful master, succeeding Immediate Past Master Carlos E. Eslaban Jr., who now serves as secretary for the Masonic Year 2026-2027.

The other elected officers were Senior Warden Christopher B. Manalo, Junior Warden Kennet Jann R. Bernardo, Treasurer Wilfredo Ching, Harmony Officer Wendell M. Posadas, and Auditor Pepe R. Crisostimo.

Also on Saturday, Emon Lodge No. 179 announced the appointed officers. They are Chaplain Vincent DLG Torres, Marshall Kelvin V. Baldazo, Senior Deacon Edmin A. Elayda, Junior Deacon Larry C. Pangelinan, Orator Nilo Panes, Almoner Marcelo V. Masilungan, Historian Daniel Banez, Lecturer Arvin Ian Sales, Senior Steward Rex Dimafelix, Junior Steward Aristotle Anicete, Organist Perry A. Inos Jr., and Tyler Noel B. Ordas.

In his remarks, Abordonado said he was truly honored to accept the role of worshipful master of Emon Lodge No. 179 for the Masonic year 2026. He noted that the position is both a privilege and a profound responsibility, and added, “I commit to leading with humility, integrity, and dedication to our craft.”

His theme for the year is “Brothers by Choice, Family by Bond.” With this theme, he said his leadership emphasizes the deep connections, loyalty, and accountability that strengthen the brotherhood.

“We are a brotherhood of men from diverse backgrounds, united by our shared philosophy and desire to improve ourselves and our community,” Abordonado said. He thanked his brothers for trusting him to “lead from the East, the symbol of light and knowledge.”

“I am grateful for your faith, labor, and commitment to the tenets of Freemasonry: Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth,” he said.

Eslaban laid the gavel down “with a heart filled with gratitude for the confidence, support, and brotherly love you have extended to me during my term in the East.” He also expressed deep thanks to the other officers for their dedication, to past masters for their wise counsel, and to every brother who contributed their time and talents for the good of the Lodge, which engages in volunteer work and community development efforts.

Very Worshipful Felimon M. Mercado, the District Deputy Grand Master for Masonic District Overseas-Marianas Islands, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Abordonado. “Your dedication to the craft and commitment to our principles of brotherly love, relief, and truth have earned you this esteemed position,” he said.
