A ROTA Department of Public Safety police officer, Joseph Barcinas, is accused of inappropriately touching a woman at the Aquarius Bar in Songsong, Rota, DPS Assistant Chief of Police Simon Manacop said on Wednesday.
“Barcinas is currently placed on administrative duties after a criminal complaint for assault and disturbing the peace was filed against him,” Manacop added.
The allegations were reported to DPS Rota on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 1:35 a.m. Barcinas was arrested at 1:55 a.m.
As the case remains under investigation, further details will not be provided at this time, Manacop said.
DPS did not provide a photo of Barcinas, and no court appearance had been scheduled for him as of Wednesday’s press deadline.
