
(Press Release) — Local creativity takes center stage as Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan announces the winners of Crowne Artist 2026, honoring CNMI artists and their interpretations of Marianas culture and heritage.
The exhibit opened to the public from Feb. 20 to 26, followed by a second viewing period from March 1 to 22 at the resort’s Cultural Lounge. The winning artworks will remain on display for an extended three-month run through May 22, 2026.
Open to CNMI artists aged 16 and above, the competition invited original works that reflect the stories, traditions, and identity of the Marianas. Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan congratulates this year’s winners and extends its sincere appreciation to all participating artists, as well as the CNMI art community, for their continued support and enthusiasm.

First Place: Christian S. Apolónio — “The Sound of Kulo”
Second Place: Michael M. Nishimura — “Collide”
Third Place: Mei Li — “The Eye of Saipan Beauty”
All artworks are now part of the resort’s public art display, providing guests and the local community continued access to locally inspired artistic expression.
“Cultural art holds a special place in the heart of the resort as it reflects the beauty, history, and soul of our islands,” said Clayton Darlington, general manager.
The public is invited to visit the resort and view the artworks throughout the extended exhibition period.
