MOBIL Oil on Thursday raised its fuel prices by 10 cents, marking the second increase this year.
The price of regular gasoline rose from $5.06 to $5.16 per gallon. Premium gasoline now costs $5.61 per gallon, up from $5.51, and diesel increased to $5.58 per gallon from $5.48.
Shell Marianas had not changed its fuel prices as of Thursday noon but is expected to follow suit.
On Tinian, as of Thursday morning, Tinian Fuel Services’ regular gasoline was $7.06 per gallon, and diesel was $7.69. On Rota, Calvo Enterprises’ regular gasoline price was $6.44 per gallon, and diesel was $9.02. According to Calvo Enterprises staff, the last price adjustment on Rota was Feb. 18, 2026.
Military veteran and community activist Fabian Indalencio said his main concern is the impact of the fuel price hike on utility bills. “It’s hard for people whenever the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. increases its rates,” he said.
Noting that CUC recently announced plans to implement new utility rates, Indalencio questioned why ratepayers always bear the burden. “The ratepayers already pay more for the gas they use for their cars whenever fuel prices rise, and now higher utility bills add to the cost,” he said.
Reuters reported that oil prices “climbed on Thursday, hovering near seven-month highs, as investors gauged whether U.S.-Iran talks could avert a military conflict that risks supply disruptions, though gains were capped by a build in U.S. crude inventories.”
