THE Braves Jr. made their presence known in the Junior Division of the 2025 Saipan Little League Baseball, showing dominance in their debut game against the Blue Jays Jr. with a 14-2 victory at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field on Saturday.
In the top of the opening inning, the Braves Jr.’s first at bat Damian Marchadesch stole his way home for the first scored run of the day.
The Blue Jays Jr. responded with two consecutive outs, but Braves Jr.’s Donray Barcinas managed to slip through for a second stolen base before the Blue Jays Jr. recorded the third out.
The Blue Jays Jr. started the bottom half with a stolen base by Gorshiro Sasamoto in his first at-bat, while Ethan Dikito earned an RBI. Dikito was then brought home by Ezekiel Camacho, also with an RBI, to tie the game at 2-2.
No runs were scored in the second inning, and the Blue Jays Jr. were unable to break the silence for the rest of the game. The Braves Jr., however, regained momentum in the top of the third, thanks to Kayden Lizama’s triple, followed by six consecutive runs to take an 8-2 lead.
The Braves Jr.’s lead expanded with three runs in the top of the fourth, followed by three more in the top of the fifth to seal the win, 14-2.
Also emerging victorious were the Ol’Aces Sr., who slipped past the Braves Sr., 9-8.
