MP United Football Club narrowly avoided defeat with a second-half rally, forcing a 2-2 draw against Kanoa Football Club in the A Division of the Dove Women’s League Spring 2025 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Wednesday.

In the opening half, Kanoa took complete control of possession. The first 15 minutes were filled with back-and-forth action, but MPU could only delay the inevitable as Kanoa’s Kaithlyn Chavez found the back of the net in the 16th minute to put her team ahead.

MPU fueled their momentum as Lalaine Pagarao scored the team’s second goal four minutes later, extending their lead to 2-0.

However, MPU returned to the field in the second half with renewed energy, playing like a completely different team.

After several exchanges, MPU managed to exploit Kanoa’s weakness as Rosie Saralu broke free to sink her team’s first goal of the match in the 47th minute.

Throughout the next 20 minutes, Kanoa denied most of MPU’s subsequent attacks. However, in the 70th minute, MPU managed to break down Kanoa’s defensive line, with Megan Elayda slipping in the clutch shot to level the score at 2-2.

With less than 10 minutes left on the clock, neither team was able to score the game-winning goal and had to settle for a draw.

MPU remains at the top of the leaderboard with two wins and one draw, while Kanoa has one win and one draw.
