Free rice for Rota residents

THE Offices of the Governor and Lt. Governor, in collaboration with the Rota Mayor’s Office, would like to inform Rota residents of a community distribution drive taking place on Saturday, March 15, at 8 a.m. at the Rota Aging Center in the village of Sinapalo.

Participants will receive one 50 lb sack of rice. The event will be a drive-thru distribution. No walk-ins or walk-up’s are allowed. Supplies are limited and available for distribution on a first come, first serve basis, or while supplies last.

To receive one  50 lb sack of rice, residential households must present a valid government-issued ID that matches the account name of a copy of their most recent utility bill from the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation.

If a residential homeowner with a CUC account is unable to attend the event, they may designate an authorized representative to collect one (1) 50 lb sack of rice on their behalf. To do so, the homeowner must provide an authorization letter specifying the designated person, along with copies of a valid government-issued ID for both the account holder and the authorized representative. Businesses, rental property owners, and landlords are not eligible to receive one (1) 50 lb sack of rice.

Motorists are asked to start at the west parking lot entrance of the Rota Aging Center. Traffic flow extends back and towards San Isidro Parish Church. Motorists are advised to obey traffic laws and to not obstruct businesses or residential driveways. The Department of Public Safety will be present at key locations to help direct the flow of traffic.
