SHRM meeting to discuss workforce compliance, LTR status

(Press Release) — The SHRM Northern Mariana Islands Chapter invites members, HR professionals, and the broader business community to save the date for its upcoming April 2026 general membership meeting or GMM, scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2026.

This upcoming GMM will feature timely and relevant discussions focused on workforce compliance and immigration-related matters impacting employers across the CNMI.

Representatives from the CNMI Department of Labor will lead a session on employer compliance with local labor regulations, providing guidance and updates to help organizations remain aligned with local labor requirements.

The program will also include a special presentation by attorney Janet King, who will discuss the CNMI Long-Term Resident status. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain clarity on eligibility, processes, and practical implications for both employers and employees. To ensure a focused and meaningful discussion, participants are encouraged to submit questions in advance through the event registration link.

Registration rates

SHRM NMI members may attend for $35, while future members may register for $40. Recognizing the importance of engaging the next generation of professionals, a student rate of $20 is available for both high school and college students.

For organizations attending as a team, SHRM NMI offers a group rate of $30 per person for groups of four or more individuals from the same organization. SHRM membership is not required to take advantage of the group rate.

SHRM NMI accepts government purchase orders or POs as a form of payment. Participants utilizing a PO may present it upon arrival at the GMM, with final payment to be processed thereafter in accordance with their organization’s payment procedures.

Participants are encouraged to register early to secure their seats. Please note that no-show fees will apply for individuals who register but do not attend.
