Ogo congratulates MVA’s Taijeron, expresses gratitude to Concepcion

ROTA Rep. Julie Ogo, House Committee on Tourism chair, extends her heartfelt congratulations to Jamaika Taijeron on her appointment as the new managing director of the Marianas Visitors Authority. Ogo expresses confidence in Taijeron’s leadership and vision for the future of CNMI tourism.

“I encourage Ms. Taijeron to explore diverse opportunities within the tourism industry to ensure long-term sustainability and growth. Our islands hold rich cultural traditions and untapped tourism potential that must be nurtured to attract a broader market while preserving our identity,” Ogo.

Ogo also took the opportunity to extend her sincere appreciation to outgoing MVA Managing Director Christopher Concepcion for his years of dedicated service and contributions to MVA and the overall development of the CNMI’s tourism industry.

“Mr. Concepcion’s commitment and leadership have been instrumental in navigating our islands through tourism challenges and opportunities. I wish him the best in his future endeavors,” she added.

In her role as tourism committee chair, Ogo urges MVA to strengthen partnerships with key government sectors such as the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, the Indigenous Affairs Office, and other relevant agencies to enhance the promotion, marketing, and preservation of cultural experiences within the CNMI.

She also emphasized the importance of inter-island collaboration in boosting cultural literacy, preservation, and regional tourism. “A unified approach across the Marianas will not only enhance our cultural tourism offerings but also fortify relationships between our islands, ensuring a stronger and more connected Marianas region,” Ogo said.

Ogo remains committed to working alongside MVA and all stakeholders to strengthen the CNMI’s position as a premier destination while safeguarding its rich heritage for future generations.
