SHRM NMI invites community to submit questions ahead of April 10 meeting

(Press Release) — The SHRM Northern Mariana Islands Chapter is inviting members of the business community to submit questions in advance for its upcoming April 2026 general membership meeting or GMM, with a submission deadline of April 10, 2026.

Scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the ballroom of Marianas Beach Resort, this GMM will focus on critical workforce topics impacting employers across the CNMI — particularly labor compliance and immigration-related matters.

The session will feature representatives from the CNMI Department of Labor, who will provide guidance on employer compliance with local labor regulations, as well as a special presentation by attorney Janet King on the CNMI Long-Term Resident or LTR status.

To ensure a more meaningful and targeted discussion, SHRM NMI strongly encourages participants to submit questions prior to the event. Advance submissions will allow presenters to review inquiries, prepare comprehensive responses, and address the most pressing concerns of employers during their presentations.

By submitting questions ahead of time, attendees help shape the conversation and ensure that the information shared is directly relevant to the challenges they are facing.

SHRM NMI members may attend for $35, while future members may register for $40. A student rate of $20 is available for both high school and college students. A group rate of $30 per person is offered for organizations registering four or more participants. SHRM membership is not required to take advantage of the group rate.

SHRM NMI also accepts government purchase orders or POs as a form of payment. Participants may present a PO upon arrival, with final payment to be processed thereafter in accordance with their organization’s procedures.

Participants are encouraged to register early and submit their questions by April 10, 2026 through the official registration link. Please note that individuals who register but do not attend will still be billed the applicable entry fee.
