THE Board of Education and Public School System officials met on Friday to discuss school reopening. PSS noted that it took “proactive measures” two days before Super Typhoon Sinlaku by sending requests for funding assistance to the U.S. Department of Education. These include extending the federal fund spending period, reprogramming travel funds for immediate school recovery, and seeking additional emergency funding. The special meeting was held in the PSS Disaster Recovery Program conference room at Marina Heights in Puerto Rico.
