JCME/Evian Team trounced 69ers Team, 95-75, in one of the debut games of the Alpha Kappa Rho 1st Semi-Open Invitational Basketball League 2025 at the TSL Sports Complex on Sunday.

JCME/Evian came prepared, with their well-balanced performance quickly establishing control of the opening half. Jack Lizama served as the sparkplug, finding his range both within the perimeter and beyond the arc. Team morale spread like wildfire as Elmer Esdrelon matched Lizama’s output with a layup and a three-pointer.

Throughout the first 10 minutes of the game, the 69ers held their ground offensively, thanks to the efforts of Ar-jay Giron, Alvin Pantola, and Marlon Casbin, who used their craftiness to draw fouls and score points from the free-throw line.

JCME/Evian, for their part, turned defense into offense, led by Rodel Pastrana with 12 fast-break points, while teammate Keith Santos shot the lights out with four treys to extend their lead to double digits, 49-37.

In the second half, the 69ers continued to put up a fight and extended their scoring options with a couple of triples by Jerico De Leon and Giron while Pantola and Casbin remained reliable from underneath the rim.

JCME/Evian, however, had an answer for every shot made by the 69ers. Pastrana picked up where he left off, scoring nine points in the first seven minutes. As their lead grew, the rest of the team got involved, including Brendon Talania, Ronel Macalinao, and Su Diwa, who finished strong to help secure their first win of the season, 95-75
