AS the end of Round 1 in the 2026 Madflex Invitational Basketball League draws near, Win Trust strengthened its bid for a top spot in the standings with a narrow 83-81 victory over Blue Haus at the Agape Christian School gym on Monday night.

Win Trust set the tempo early, utilizing a balanced offensive attack. De Vero led the charge from mid-range with consistent jumpers, while Demonteverde stretched the floor with key shots from beyond the arc.

On the other end, Blue Haus opted for a more methodical approach, relying on ball movement to create opportunities for Esdrelon, Estolas, and Licayan.

As the first half progressed, Win Trust maintained control of the pace as Kim and Ferrer contributed in the backcourt, helping extend a steady lead into halftime.

Despite the deficit, Blue Haus kept the game within reach, using aggressive drives to the paint to stay close. Estolas and Tabora led the charge from long range, while Tibayan provided support inside with strong rebounding and second-chance points.

Blue Haus remained within striking distance, but its lack of pace led to several fouls as it tried to keep up. Win Trust capitalized at the line, with Directo converting multiple and-one opportunities.

In the final minutes, Blue Haus nearly pulled off a comeback behind three straight triples from Estolas. However, Win Trust’s perimeter defense held firm, while Directo and Kim delivered key baskets down the stretch to secure the 83-81 win.
