ROTARY Club of Saipan’s past presidents will once again take on an exciting yet challenging responsibility this Rotary year.
During the installation ceremony at Crowne Plaza Resort’s beachfront setting on Tuesday, the Rotarians welcomed fellow club members who will continue to serve in leadership roles for Rotary Year 2026–2027.
They include Past President Irene Holl, who will serve again as president; Catherine Attao, president-elect; Past President Dr. Peter Gregor, vice president; Joe Torres, secretary; Past President Glen Perez, treasurer; and Pastor Wayne Gillespie, sergeant-at-arms. Directors include Donna Krum and Pastor Stephen Dame, along with returning directors Enoch Lim, Dash Krishnan, Ivan Ilmov, and Rotary Year 2025–2026 President Greg Borja.
Against a sunset backdrop, the new officers were sworn in by Superior Court Associate Judge James Patrick San Nicolas.
Prior to the installation, Rotarians honored Dr. Nelson and Donna Krum as Citizens of the Year, and Enoch Lim as Rotarian of the Year.
In his remarks, Borja reflected on activities that made a lasting impact during Rotary Year 2025–2026, including the International Coastal Clean-Up, a series of student exchange programs, hosting the manamko’ for a Thanksgiving Day luncheon, and Super Typhoon Sinlaku relief operations two months ago.
In her remarks, Holl said the Rotary Club of Saipan’s theme for the year is “Love in Action.” She noted that it had been a challenging year and added, “We will have our first serious discussion on how our Rotary year will go. We are still in challenging times.”
She also announced that after two years without a fundraiser, the club will revive its major fundraising event, the Las Vegas Night, set for Oct. 17, 2026. She shared that former Rotary International District 2750 Governor Yoichiro Miyazaki has confirmed his return to Saipan for the next cycling event, which is expected to draw a larger crowd this year.
