KAGMAN High School’s JV squad, along with two teams of Marianas High School, tasted victory in the boys high school division of the PSS-NMIBF Interscholastic Basketball League SY24-25 at the Marianas High School gym on Friday.
KHS JV reigned supreme against Mount Carmel School White, 41-25.
KHS JV played with confidence as they easily gained and maintained a double-digit lead throughout the opening half.
Darion Adelbai and Liam Wilson powered KHS JV’s offense with six points each, but it was teamwork that kept the momentum going, as Ardonn Flores, Jacob Santos, and Shahedur Rahman each added a bucket to give their team a comfortable 19-9 lead.
In the second half, MCS White started to cook up a rally with Ethan Tomokane taking over the first 10 minutes with nine points — six of them from the free throw line — while Jener Pineda added two triples.
KHS JV, however, struck back as Clinton Halder took center stage, scoring 12 points, while teammates Liam Wilson, Jacob Santos, and Nelton Halder contributed to the offensive surge, securing their team’s 41-25 victory.
Winner’s circle
Joining the winner’s circle was MHS Yellow which eased past Saipan Southern High School’s junior varsity team, 26-15.
The teams were evenly matched in the first half, with MHS Yellow holding a narrow 12-10 lead. However, in the second half, SSHS JV managed just five points, while MHS surged ahead, fueled by Edward Manibusan and Josh Yoromad, who scored four points each to seal the 26-15 victory.
MHS Blue also emerged victorious, dominating MCS Grey, 36-15.
