The local pageant winner will represent the CNMI in the international Miss Earth competition. The most recent pageant took place in the Philippines, where Pangelinan participated in environmental projects in Cebu and competed in Manila.

In the CNMI, she has organized toy drives at the hospital and the Center for Living Independently. She also conducted sustainability advocacy workshops at Marianas High School and Saipan Southern High School, and is organizing a sustainable fashion show that will be held this Saturday, Feb. 8.

Pangelinan tells Variety that wearing the crown has been “both challenging and rewarding,” and she wants the CNMI’s next queen to get the same experience.

“While the responsibility is great, it has also given me the chance to connect with people and find ways to give back to our communities,” she said. “I am truly grateful that this opportunity came to me, as it has allowed me to grow and make a meaningful impact. I want to remind everyone that the women of Miss Earth are not only beautiful and talented, but also strong advocates for protecting our environment and culture for future generations. This journey has deepened my sense of purpose and passion for the causes I care about. I am confident that the next woman to hold this title will bring the same dedication and grow in ways she never expected. To the next Miss Earth, embrace this experience with heart and passion. It will be a journey of purpose, and you will inspire change that lasts for generations.”
