CUC to conduct water meter accuracy testing

(CUC) — The Commonwealth Utilities Corporation will begin a comprehensive water meter testing initiative on Saipan starting Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025.  This testing program aims to ensure the accuracy of water meters that have been in service for over five years, reflecting CUC’s commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and quality services to its customers.

As part of the process, CUC will perform random accuracy testing on selected water meters. Customers whose meters are selected for testing will have their current water meters temporarily replaced with a certified temporary meter. The original meter will undergo calibration at CUC’s facility to verify its accuracy.

Meters that pass the accuracy test will be returned to service, and the temporary meters will be removed. Meters that do not meet accuracy standards will be replaced with new water meters to ensure precise measurements and billing.

CUC appreciates the community’s cooperation and understanding to ensure the smooth implementation of the islandwide water meter testing initiative. We aim to conduct these tests efficiently while minimizing disruption to customers’ daily activities.

CUC appreciates the public’s cooperation and understanding as it works to ensure reliable service for its customers.
