Federal court orders 18 jurors to appear after no-show at Ma’s trial

THE District Court for the NMI deputy clerk said 18 prospective jurors did not appear for jury duty on Tuesday morning in the trial of Wenliang Ma, who was also a no-show.

Ma was charged with conspiracy to transport illegal aliens.

Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona directed the U.S. Marshals Service to serve the 18 prospective jurors and require them to appear in court on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, at 9 a.m.

She said should the prospective jurors fail to appear at the order-to-show-cause hearing, a bench warrant will be issued against them.
