MPU slips past Kanoa to bag U12 boys soccer title

THE MP United Football Club ended the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Fall 2024 season on a high note by edging Kanoa Football Club 1, 1-0, to win the U12 boys division title at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Saturday.

MPU’s game-winning shot came very early in the opening half.

After two minutes of battling for possession, MPU managed to turn defense into offense with Beau Bauer capitalizing off the transition play to find the back of the net at the third minute mark.

Throughout the rest of the match, both teams tried to score, but neither team could, allowing MPU to walk away with the victory, 1-0, and the U12 division championship.

The Good Boot Award was shared by Aldric Antonio of Kanoa Football Club and Quido Jambor of MP United. Each scored an impressive 14 goals during the season.

The battle for third place was also a thriller with Matansa Football Club outlasting Shirley’s Football Club in an overtime shootout, 2(2)-2(0).
