
(DPS) — The Department of Public Safety will conduct DUI sobriety checkpoints on the following dates:
Wednesday, Dec. 18
The first setup will be on Chalan Monsignor Guerrero from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 20
The first setup will be on Chalan Monsignor Guerrero San Jose to Dandan from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The second setup will be along Beach Road, Illiyan to Garapan from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 21
The first setup will be on Chalan Pale Arnold, Puerto Rico to Navy Hill from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The second checkpoint will be a simultaneous setup along Beach Road San Jose to Chalan Kanoa, and Beach Road, Chalan Laulau to Garapan from 9 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
The purpose of these scheduled checkpoints is to deter, detect, and apprehend impaired drivers and promote public safety while increasing awareness of the dangers of driving while under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication while on the island’s roadways.
In addition to these checkpoints, DPS Highway Patrol Division will conduct high visibility enforcement, saturation patrols, and speed enforcement at random locations around the island.
