THE Flamingo Tavern Vipers ended the 2024 season by defeating the Spicy Thai Double Chin Double Out, 9-6, to add the masters division Bud Light Cup to their collection on Wednesday at the Flamingo Tavern.

It started as a fairly even battle with several lead exchanges made throughout the early portion of the match.

Dettz “Low-Tonese” Aldan and Goru “G-Kawa” Ishkawa bagged the first win for the Vipers, but this was quickly answered by D.C.D.O.’s Darion “Icebox” Jones and Ken “Senpai” Kaneshi, who split the opening set of the Partners Crazy Cricket games, 1-1.

Another back-and-forth action was seen in the one-on-one scene with the Vipers’ Ishkawa and James “Mwahne” Welley notching two wins while D.C.D.O.’s Harry “Smooth” Nakamura and Jones claimed the remaining two matches to split the  Singles 501 games.  The Partners Regular Cricket and Partners 701 games resulted in the fourth deadlock of the night, 5-5.

In the second set of the Singles Regular Cricket games, the Vipers managed to break away from the endless seesaw battle as Ishkawa, Juliano “Show Me” Matsutaro, and James “Jembo” Tudela bested their respective opponents for a 3-1 run as their team seized the first lead of the match, 8-6.

Aldan and Matsutaro solidified the Vipers’ victory in the first Partners Half-It game by claiming the ninth and final win needed to secure the match, 9-6, and collect the masters division Bud Light Cup.

The Flamingo Tavern Vipers consist of team captain Juliano “Show Me” Matsutaro, James “Mwahne” Welley, Dettz “Low-Tonese” Aldan, James “Jembo” Tudela, Goru “G-Kawa” Ishkawa, Garnett “Lights Out” Martin, Jose Kumoi, Henry “Savage” Sablan, and Manny “Aqua-Holic” De Gracia.
