THE 3rd Biennial McDonald’s of Guam and Saipan Golf Classic, which will be held at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort’s east course this Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Karidat on Saipan, and the United Service Organizations on Guam.
Over 50 businesses are sponsoring the event that, once again, is made possible through the Jose & Ruri Ayuyu Foundation with the support of players and generous sponsors and partners.
“I do understand that a lot of businesses in the CNMI are having difficulties, so I want to extend my appreciation to each and every one of you, for stepping out and participating in this golf tournament,” McDonald’s of Guam and Saipan President Jose Ayuyu said during an “appreciation night” at his residence in San Vicente.
He said the money that will be collected will go to a good cause, referring to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Karidat and the United Service Organizations.
McDonald’s Saipan owner operator Marcia “Ruri” Ayuyu said she knows that this year, “there’s not really that much because our economy is not that good.” That is why she is thankful to all the sponsors “because there is really a lot that are suffering, so we are grateful for all your help.”
Tournament Chair Ben Babauta also expressed his appreciation to the sponsors. He said the beneficiaries of the foundation “stretch out to the entire Micronesia.” He vowed that this year’s McDonald’s golf classic will be spectacular and more exciting for the players and the sponsors.
Through the Jose & Ruri Ayuyu Foundation, McDonald’s of Guam and Saipan has donated over $40,000 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities since the inaugural golf tournament in 2020.
Jose and Ruri Ayuyu said “this has been made possible through the support of our players, our generous sponsors and partners. We invite our community to join us this year as we renew our commitment to keeping families together.”
