LIEUTENANT Gov. David M. Apatang, Department of Finance Secretary Tracy B. Norita and Certified Public Accountant Dave Burger joined officers and members of the Marianas Institute of Filipino CPAs and Accountants in celebrating its 30th anniversary on Nov. 23, 2024, at Saipan World Resort’s Taga Hall.
Also joining the 156 MIFICPA members in a memorable occasion were Board of Education member-elect Aschumar Kodep Ogumoro-Uludong and United Filipino Organizations President Birhen Martinez.
In recognition of MIFICPA’s three decades of contributions to the islands’ accounting services, the event included a special address by Burger, who spoke about the importance of supporting the accountancy profession and expanding its influence in the CNMI. His remarks also provided a clear vision for the future of the profession.
Apatang, in his congratulatory speech, noted MIFICPA’s accomplishments over the past 30 years and emphasized the value of the accounting community to the local economy.
For his part, MIFICPA President Valentino Cruz said the anniversary celebration allowed them to reflect on the group’s significant achievements and their ongoing initiatives to support the professional development of its members.
Over the past three decades, he added, MIFICPA has become a cornerstone of the accountancy field, organizing events, providing training, and advocating for the advancement of the profession.
The 30th anniversary celebration theme was “Legacy, Innovation, Excellence.”
The other 2024 officers of MIFICPA are Maria Cely Monteclaro, vice president-internal; Melanie Martin-Galapon, vice president-external; Elijah Raphael O. Cabauatan, secretary; Renelyn Gallos, assistant secretary; Catalina Benedicto, treasurer; Ira Janela Marquez, assistant treasurer; Ma. Jenina Ysabel C. Vergara, auditor; and Ronnel Calma, business manager.
The board of directors is composed of Eloisa Manese, Maria Luisa P. Fernando, Marites L. Villanueva, Noemi Catigan, Maria Gloria M. Balila, and Marvin Buston.
