Unity Trade’s Ivan De Vero takes the contested shot over a defender during a game in the Win Pacific Corporation Invitational Basketball League 2024 at the Gualo Rai basketball court.
UNITY Trade continues to climb the ladder in the Win Pacific Corporation Invitational Basketball League 2024 after earning their third win by outshooting the UMI Shooters, 74-54, at the TSL Sports Complex on Sunday.
The first half had both teams exchanging buckets.
The UMI Shooters worked well as a team as they moved the ball around to create open looks for Eugene Lacanilo, Marlon Binuya and July Narciso, who scored a pair of buckets each.
On the other end, Unity Trade utilized their big men to dominate the perimeter. Joel Javier played smart and drew fouls to take over the first 10 minutes of the first half by delivering 10 points while teammate Christian De Vero scored an additional 10 points to give Unity Trade the upper hand, 33-27.
In the second half, the UMI Shooters played with more confidence from beyond the arc as Jhune Gathalian, Narciso, Alvin Pantola and Binuya each contributed a triple.
With Javier and De Vero out of the picture, the rest of Unity Trade stepped up to maintain their team’s lead. Elmer Esdrelon and Paul Quizon combined for 12 points while Reymark Castro and Ivan De Vero finished strong to secure the win over the UMI Shooters, 74-54.
Swishas joined the celebration as they outplayed One Pacific, 81-74, to remain undefeated with a 5-0 win/loss record.
