670 Gravity won the masters division championship of the Win Pacific Corporation Invitational Basketball League 2024 after rallying past the undefeated HBR, 88-84, in overtime at the TSL Sports Complex on Sunday night.

HBR performed as expected, entering with guns blazing. Jaime Quiambao ignited the team’s run with a three-pointer, which was followed with buckets by Jun Hernandez, Gab Camacho and Ram Agusto as HBR seized the lead.

On the other end, 670 Gravity also started with a triple courtesy of Alkenn Ege followed by more threes delivered by Jun Estolas, Mark Matuguina and Jerome Directo to keep their team in contention.

But they needed more than long-range shots to overcome HBR as Hernandez and Camacho remained consistent to keep their team afloat, 45-34.

The second half, however, was “Estolas” time as he took over the highlight reel to lead 670 Gravity’s late-game rally.

Estolas was simply unstoppable as he shot the lights out — from beyond the arc to inside the paint — scoring 25 points to tie the game, 73-73 and force a five-minute overtime.

In overtime, HBR seemed to have the win in the palm of their hands after feeding Arfin Chua inside the paint for back-to-back buckets. But 670 Gravity’s Ege answered on the other end with seven straight points to grasp the upper hand.

Despite Camacho’s efforts to keep HBR alive, Directo connected a daggering three-point shot that forced HBR to foul in order to stop the clock, but they acted a bit too late, allowing 670 Gravity to run away with the upset victory, 88-84.

Scores:

670 Gravity 88 – Jun Estolas 34, Jerome Directo 22, Alkenn Ege 18, Mark Matuguina 7, Dick Tibayan 1, Benedict Villocero 4, Erwin Santiago 2
