U.S. Army Major John Paul A. Demapan, the youngest son of Frank and Lela Demapan, recently returned from his third deployment to the Middle East, serving as the battalion operations officer-in-charge of the 49th Movement Control Battalion, the sole movement control battalion supporting the entire theater.
While deployed, he was instrumental as the Ground Tactical OIC to U.S. Army Central and the 1st Theater Sustainment Command’s Foreign Humanitarian Aid or FHA operations in support of the people of Gaza.
In April, Major Demapan hosted U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a demonstration of the FHA security screening site in Jordan.
Under Major Demapan’s leadership, the Foreign Humanitarian Aid ground node, over a four-month period, successfully completed security screening of over 1,650 flatbed trucks carrying 35,000 pallets or 50+ million pounds of food, water, medical supplies, and general cargo, in addition to the resupply of 315 liters of blood to a hospital in Gaza.
He is currently stationed at Fort Cavazos, Texas, where he resides with his wife and two children and currently serves as the secretary of the General Staff for the 13th Armored Corps Sustainment Command.
