GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios last week appointed Miranda V. Manglona to the Commonwealth Utilities Corp.’s board of directors.

Manglona was the CUC board chair during the administration of Gov. Ralph DLG Torres.

Palacios appointed her to serve the remaining term of Valerie M. Atalig that will expire on Aug. 10, 2027. Atalig, who represented Rota on the CUC board, resigned about a month ago.

In his appointment letter to Manglona, the governor said he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang are confident that “you are qualified and will devote your time and efforts to the best interest of CUC.”

In his letter to Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero, Palacios said he and Apatang are confident that Manglona is “qualified and will be an asset to this important board.”

The governor also nominated Antonio LG Cabrera to the Commonwealth Election Commission to serve the unexpired term of Jesus S. Cepeda.

Palacios told the Senate president that Cabrera is qualified and will be an asset to this critical commission.

“We respectfully request your favorable action on Mr. Cabrera’s nomination,” the governor added.
