GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios on Thursday appointed Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero as a member of the CNMI America250 Commission.

Her appointment, which does not require the consent of the Senate, will expire on March 30, 2027.

The governor said he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang are confident that with her qualifications, Deleon Guerrero “will effectively fulfill the Commission’s mandates. Your willingness to serve on this Commission is most appreciated.”

He noted that the CNMI America250 Commission was established to plan and implement a “robust series of events and activities” to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the nation’s independence “in a compelling and impactful manner.”

America250 is the official nonpartisan entity charged by the U.S. Congress with planning the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
