Floramixed Flowers & Gift Shop blooms with guidance from CNMI SBDC

(CNMI SBDC) — Floramixed Flowers & Gift Shop, located on Espana Street, Gualo Rai, Saipan, is blossoming into the local community with the support and guidance of the CNMI Small Business Development Center Network at Northern Marianas College. Owned and operated by Rolando Gianan, the shop specializes in vibrant floral arrangements and unique gifts, and is making its mark with the assistance of CNMI SBDCN.

Floramixed Flowers & Gift Shop originally sought out SBDC for help navigating the complexities of starting a business, including obtaining a business license and zoning permits. With personalized 1:1 counseling from a business advisor, Gianan received the support needed to turn a long-time dream into reality.

“I was hesitant to venture out and start my own shop, but with the encouragement of my counselor and the support of my family, I decided it was time to start my own small business,” said Gianan. “The CNMI SBDCN was there every step of the way, offering tailored services and regular check-ins to make sure I stayed on track.”

Through SBDC, Gianan also gained invaluable insight and attended his first business event, the CNMI SBDC Christmas in July Small Business Night. “That event gave me the confidence I needed to put myself out there and begin marketing my business,” he said.

Since officially opening in September 2024, Floramixed Flowers & Gift Shop has been steadily growing, with plans to expand even further. “I’m just getting started, but I’ve already spoken to my counselor about seeking grants and microloans to grow the business. My focus now is to reach the community, and CNMI SBDCN is helping me with my marketing plan,” said Gianan.

Looking ahead, Gianan plans to continue collaborating with SBDC for future growth, including developing a financial plan and attending more training sessions. “CNMI SBDC will continue to be a resource as I grow my business and seek out more opportunities.”
