TSINGTAO JTM and HBR are off to a strong start in the Win Pacific Corporation Invitational Basketball League 2024 as they bagged separate victories against their respective opponents on Tuesday at the Gualo Rai basketball court.

Tsingtao JTM outlasted UMI, 62-55.

As the aggressor on both ends of the court, Tsingtao JTM utilized a tight zone defense, contesting every shot and allowing the opposing team only three shots. Offensively, Tsingtao JTM was led by Danilo Laxa and Patrick Morales, who each scored five points to give their team a comfortable first quarter lead, 15-6.

But UMI, which had enough time to get the gears rolling, launched a strong offensive run in the second period. Leading the comeback was Jhune Gatchalian, who made his way inside with 10 points. After teammate Reynante Reynante delivered six points, UMI was suddenly trailing by just one possession.

Morales remained at the frontline, scoring 11 points in the fourth and final quarter to secure the win for his team, 62-55.
