A SENATE special investigation committee last week gave CNMI Treasurer Asuncion S. Agulto more time to submit additional documents pertaining to the $225 million in American Rescue Plan Act or ARPA funds deposited into the Bank of Guam by the previous administration.
Agulto had already submitted documents, but the committee asked her for more information, including a copy of her personal ledger.
In his letter to Agulto last week, the special committee chairman, Sen. Karl King-Nabors, said they appreciate her cooperation with the Senate’s fiscal analyst and legislative assistant in identifying the relevant documents the committee needs to see.
The senator said he and the other members of the committee understand that Agulto needs additional time to comply with the request, so the committee rescheduled for Aug. 29, 2024 the meeting originally set for Aug. 15, 2024.
“Therefore, your required appearance is August 29, 2024 at 9:30 a.m., in the Senate chamber. The committee requests that you provide the requested documents on or before the close business of August 26, 2024. Your continued assistance and cooperation in providing the documents as requested is greatly appreciated,” the senator said.
