FMS beats Chacha; Hopwood holds SIS to a 1-1 draw

WITH Shy’annalie Mallens giving them an early lead in the game, Francisco M. Sablan Middle School defeated Chacha Oceanview Middle School in the NMI Football Association’s Inter-Scholastic Soccer League at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Tuesday.

Mallens scored at the fifth and 24th minute marks to hand FMS the advantage in the first half of the match.

Rica Taitano of Chacha later scored a goal to cut the lead, 1-2, in the second half.

Phangwadee Claridades then scored the decisive goal for FMS to notch a 3-1 victory.

SIS vs Hopwood

Against Hopwood Middle School, Beatrice Gross scored a goal in the 17th minute mark to give Saipan International School the lead. SIS then defended their goal well enough to keep Hopwood scoreless in the first half.

Toward the end of the second half, however, Hopwood’s Princess Gariguez scored a goal in the 43rd minute to tie the game.

Hopwood then held their ground until the whistle, securing a 1-1 draw against SIS.
