NICK Leon Guerrero claimed the Amigos Golf Club’s August Ace of the Month titles with a total net score of 140 at the conclusion of the ace round at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort west course on Sunday, Aug. 18.
In the qualifier round on Sunday, Aug. 4, Leon Guerrero earned a decent gross score of 91. With a handicap of 20, his net score was 71.
In the ace round on Sunday, Aug. 18, Leon Guerrero improved his swing and soft touch as he shot a gross of 89 for a net score of 69.
With a combined two-day net total of 140, Leon Guerrero clinched the August Ace of the Month title.
In second place was Jay Muna, who shot a net of 73 on day 1 and 69 on day 2 for a total net score of 142.
Twenty players vied for the August ace title.
As for the optional play, Leon Guerrero led the list of Par 3 winners on hole #4. Ben Duenas ruled hole #6, Al Aldan reigned on hole #11, and Ben Jones Sr. notched hole #15. A cash prize of $120 was awarded for each hole.
For the September Ace of the Month title, the qualifier round will be held on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 9:30 a.m. while the ace round will be held on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 9:30 a.m.
