PalmTrio 670, Zori Talks, NettyCee, Chinaman and hosts Gene Castro and Songi Sessions shoot a promo video at the end of a press conference on Thursday, Aug. 8 at Saipan World Resort ahead of the “It’s Not That Serious Par!” comedy event.
AT Thursday’s press conference for the “It’s Not That Serious Par!” comedy event that takes place on Saturday, Aug. 10, the evening’s talent line up got the laughs started early while hyping up the event.
The show is a PalmTrio 670 production and it starts at 7 p.m. at the Royal Taga Ballroom. It features podcasters Zori Talks, local standup comedian Chinaman, and Comedienne/SoMe Content Creator of the Year Award winner, NettyCee.
Flying all the way in from Guam to host the event are Guam Funny Memes’ Gene Castro and Songi Sessions.
The evening will be a mix of stand-up comedy, skits and a “few surprises,” according to Lloyd Lelly of Palm Trio.
At the press conference, the talent was already cracking jokes among themselves and with the media.
Host Castro said the event is all about the crowd.
“We’re coming up there to perform but this all centers around knowing that the crowd is a part of the performance,” he said. “It’s going to be an interaction with us. Don’t be ‘mamalao,’ [shy] just come by and laugh. Give us your dirty laugh, give us your ugly laugh. Just be a part of it with us. Let’s share a moment together.”
NettyCee said she’s excited to get on stage for the crowd and collaborate with everyone.
“I hope you laugh so much you need to pee-pee,” she joked. “I’m really excited because I remember seeing Chinaman at a house party when I was in high school so the fact that I get to be on the same stage as him is a big deal for me.”
Podcasters Jesse Ogo and Lucio Aldan, aka Zori Talks, said they’re eager for show night.
“I’ve been training for this so my opponent better be ready,” Aldan joked.
Ogo highlighted how the event is special:
“It’s the first of its kind,” he said. “We’re super excited about being able to share the stage with a legend like Chinaman, the content creator of the year, NettyCee. These are great people. I know they kill the show every single time they’re up there. It’s a lot to be around.”
As for the event organizers, Louvicki Camacho said she’s feeling some pre-show nerves, but also “can’t wait until the day comes [to] see it all happen.”
“We see these guys on screen all the time so we can’t wait to see how it’s like when they’re spitting on us on stage,” Lelly joked.
“Bring your wife, bring your girlfriend, bring both,” Castro said, getting a laugh out of the rest of the talent.
As of press time, tickets were still being sold at Tupu Cane Juice at Paseo De Marianas. Tickets can also be purchased by messaging @palmtrio670, @zoritalks, @arriolapatrick, and @nettyceeofficial on Instagram.
