GOLD’S Gym fitness instructor JP Camacho is inviting the public to join the step aerobics class that he teaches on Fridays.

Camacho said there are two sessions – one at 9:30 a.m. and another at 5:30 p.m.

The class uses platforms, rhythmic movement and dynamic music to “enhance cardiovascular fitness and muscle strength,” Camacho said.

“Think of it as dancing with a step platform but without the need for fancy footwork,” he added.

The class can accommodate between 20 and 25 people. Camacho said the class is for people of all fitness levels.

“Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been working out since the dawn of time, this class will make you sweat, smile, and maybe even sing along!” he said. “Beginners will find it manageable while advanced students can challenge themselves with more intense variations of the moves.”

Camacho wanted a class that could provide a high-intensity cardio workout “with minimal joint stress” while building endurance and reducing fat. He calls it a “mood booster in workout form.”

“It energizes participants while providing a comprehensive exercise for the legs, upper body and core. Moreover, the class enhances strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and agility. Its dynamic and engaging nature keeps things exciting, motivating everyone to challenge themselves and also have fun throughout the session,” he said.

He assures the fans of his spin class that those workouts aren’t going anywhere.

“My spin classes are still going strong,” he said. “Offering both step and spin gives you more ways to mix up your workouts — variety is the spice of fitness, after all.”

The class is free for Gold’s Gym members, $20 for non-members, and $15 if the non-member accompanies a Gold’s Gym member.

Camacho recommends bringing water, “good shoes, and a bright smile.” Step platforms are provided.
