DOMINGO Atalig shot a net score of 136 to claim the Amigos Golf Club’s June Ace of the Month title on Sunday, June 16, at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort.
In the qualifier round on June 2, Atalig performed fairly well as he completed the 18 holes with a gross score of 78. Sporting a handicap of 12, he was moved to the top three list with a net score of 66.
The Ace round proved to be tougher as Atalig faced 14 other golfers and adverse weather conditions. He shot a gross of 82 which, thanks to his handicap, gave him a net score of 70.
With a two-day net score of 136, Atalig clinched the June Ace of the Month title by two strokes.
In second place was Alfred Aldan. He shot a day 1 net score of 70 and day 2 net score of 68 for a total net score of 138.
In the optional play, the Par 3 winners were Ben Duenas for hole #4, Frank Sablan for hole #6, Frank Ermitanio for hole #11, and Nick Reyes for hole #15. Each was awarded $120.
The qualifier round for the July Ace of the Month will be held on July 7, Sunday, at the west course of Laolao Bay Golf & Resort at 9 a.m.
