Car seat checkpoints on May 27

(DPS) — In observance of National Car Seat Check, the Department of Public Safety’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section and Highway Patrol Section, in conjunction with Highway Safety Office, will conduct car seat checkpoints on Monday, May 27, 2024.

The first setup will be on Chalan Monsignor Martinez, Koblerville to Chalan Monsignor Martinez, As Lito, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The second setup will be on Chalan Pale Arnold, Puerto Rico to Chalan Pale Arnold, Chalan Laulau, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The purpose of these checkpoints is to detect, deter and identify improper use of seat belts and/or child car seat in the highway.  DPS would also like to remind the public to have a safe and enjoyable Memorial weekend.
