High school students invited to participate in summer health program

TWENTY slots are available for high school students interested in participating in the Area Health Education Center’s Teen Health Summer Program. 

The program explores career pathways in healthcare as well as “nursing and college life,” a media release stated. 

CPR, casting and suturing, and other simulated exercises are part of the summer program, which runs from June 10 to 21 at Northern Marianas College. 

Registrants must be incoming high school sophomores, juniors, or seniors. 

Valid CNMI IDs are required.

According to NMC’s website, AHEC is a federally funded program under the University of Hawaii-Pacific Basin AHEC that provides health care education and training to students and professionals in the CNMI. The program is designed to increase the number of healthcare professionals in the region and to improve the quality of healthcare for all residents.
