LATTE and Kanoa football clubs will face off for the U17 boys division championship of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Spring 2024 after slipping past their respective semifinal opponents at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Saturday.

Latte Football Club emerged victorious in an intense game against Matansa Football Club, 2-1.

Right from the start, both teams played aggressively. The momentum shifted between teams with a handful of attempted shots and near misses, but eventually, Latte FC was able to pick apart Matansa FC’s line of defense and set up Zhi Xiang Lin for the quick finish at the 19th minute mark to grasp the lead, 1-0.

LFC’s reign was short-lived, however. Covering their weakside, MFC transformed defense into offense led by Md. Arif Hossain Khan whose goal tied the game at the 30th minute mark, 1-1.

The seesaw battle continued throughout the second half of the match with neither team able to deliver.

At the 64th minute mark, Lin slithered past defenders to free himself for the shot that gave his team the lead, 2-1.

MFC was unable to equalize and had to settle for defeat.

In the finals, LFC will be going up against Kanoa FC, which defeated MP United Football Club in their semifinal match, 1-0. The only recorded goal of the match was contributed by Tyler Omelau at the 41st minute mark.

The other championship matches that will also be held on Saturday are the U12 boys finals between KNFC and MPU; the U14 girls finals between KNFC and SFC; the U14 boys finals between MPU and LFC; and the U17 girls finals between KNFC and MPU.
