CHOJU capped its season 2 domination of the Legends Sports Association Invitational Basketball League by winning its championship series against Savemore at the TSL Sports Complex.

Chojo won all its games thanks to the outstanding performances of Art Palmes and Gerald Mamis, who were named Regular Season MVP and Finals MVP, respectively.

In game two of the championship series against Savemore, Gerald Mamis was a big threat from beyond the arc, sinking three triples for a total of 11 points.

“I feel happy that I got it,” he said, referring to the Finals MVP award. “But it was really a team effort. I didn’t do this by myself. I did everything I could with my team so I’m happy that I got it,” he added.

Mamis credited their undefeated record to “hard work.” “We really wanted to win from the beginning, and we got it done in the end,” he said.

Game 2 against Savemore was a “really hard game,” he added. “We didn’t know if we were going to win because we’re missing a bunch of players but I’m grateful that my team pulled through in the end.”

As for Palmes, all eyes were on him throughout the season as he was averaging nearly 30 points per game.

It was his first time to win a Regular Season MVP award for which he commends Choju’s teamwork.

The season 2 mythical five are Best Guards Palmes and Carl Aldan, Best Forwards Nikko Mejarito and Julius Domine, and Best Center Justine Enano. Choju’s Matt Iguel was named Best Coach while the Sportsmanship Award was given to two teams: Live 2 Live and STAG.
