JIM Takeru and Sara Abrahams finished first in their respective divisions of the third annual Happy Hearts 5K Fun Run & Walk sponsored by the Commonwealth. Healthcare Corporation and its Sunshine Squad at the Garapan Fishing Base on Friday afternoon.
Takeru, a Marianas High School student, was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 19:05 to clinch the men’s overall title. Following behind were Craig Eaton with a time of 19:13 and Landen Taflinger with a time of 19:46.
In the women’s division, Sara Abrahams, a medical doctor at CHCC, was the overall top finisher with a time of 23:13 while Addalee Taflinger came in second at 25:52 and LoVel Spaeth was third at 24:42.
This year, a CHCC employees category was added.
In the men’s division, Kurt Song Song came out on top with a time of 29:08 followed by Alan Zevallos at 31:13, and John Bigalbal at 31:56.
In the women’s division, Abraham was the top finisher with a time of 23:13 followed by Jenna Kong at 26:42, and Lauren Phinney at 30:33.
