Rep. Angelo Camacho, Parks and Recreation Director Mike Cruz, Park Ranger Max Aguon, Turnkey Solutions managing directors Billy Grow, Broc Calvo and Jerry Lin pose for a photo with tourists in the Grotto parking lot on Friday.
PRECINCT 5 Rep. Angelo A. Camacho, with assistance from the Division of Parks and Recreation and the Commonwealth Ports Authority, installed a solar-powered security camera in the Grotto parking lot on Friday.
Donated by Turnkey Solutions, the state-of-the-art camera can store digitally recorded videos in the cloud system of the internet to which the Department of Public Safety will have access, Camacho said.
Joining Camacho at the installation of the camera were Division of Parks and Recreation Director Mike Cruz, Park Ranger Max Aguon, other DPR staff, Commonwealth Utilities Corp.’s Patrick Togawa and staff, and Turnkey Solutions managing partners Billy Grow, Broc Calvo and Jerry Lin.
DPR provided the labor, metal pole and concrete while CUC lent the bucket truck used in installing the pole and the security camera.
Camacho said he will also install another camera at the diving site so DPS, DPR and the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services can monitor the tides and issue a timely and accurate advisory.
Camacho said he plans to install 30 solar-powered cameras at different tourist sites on Saipan.
He thanked Turnkey Solutions for donating the cameras now that the CNMI is working to revive its tourism industry.
“We should treat our tourists well so they will come back,” he said.
