2024 MMAC: Team Boogie ‘Stayin’ Alive’

TEAM Boogie “Stayin’ Alive” is a small but wonderful group of eleven individuals who came together for the sole purpose of joining the 2024 Marianas March Against Cancer. As a group, we have always been close to the Commonwealth Cancer Association — going to their fundraisers for support and inviting them to our events, as well. When we heard that MMAC was making a comeback, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to both help out and also have a little fun for a good cause — especially for those in our community whose lives have been affected by cancer.

From there, we decided our team name, Team Boogie “Stayin’ Alive,” in honor of, not only those who are still fighting the battle, but also those who have passed and whose memories we continue to keep alive to this day.

Once formed as a team, we immediately started planning our fundraising activities. As of right now, these are the activities that we have planned: Happy Hour/Movie Night on March 16th with lots of drinks, snacks and laughter; Country Breakfast and Yard Sale on March 30 where you could shop and eat as you go; Pet Therapy on April 19 to take a “paws” in life and pet some adorable fur babies; and Zumba with Health Checks on April 27. While some activities have already come to pass and others are still in the planning stages, we are also doing a Spare Change collection. As the name states, we are collecting any spare change we have and putting them together to add on to our 2024 MMAC collection.

On the night of MMAC, while it is our first time joining, we’ve decided to take it easy at the actual event this year. You may hear a little karaoke coming from our tent, and perhaps even witness an actual dance-off, but we mainly want to take everything in, enjoy the experience and appreciate the efforts of everyone involved. We’ll be dressed to impress in our best boogie outfits, so we won’t be too hard to miss.
