Tax Pro/Triple L’s Jener Pineda pulls up for the three-point shot during a game in season 2 of the Legends Sports Association Invitational Basketball League at the TSL Sports Complex.
TAX Pro/Triple L secured their spot in the playoffs in season 2 of the Legends Sports Association Invitational Basketball League after earning their fourth win by trouncing Stag, 98-63, at the TSL Sports Complex on Sunday.
In the opening half, Tax Pro’s Sonny Lerio orchestrated an offensive run by scoring six points while the rest of his team chipped in a couple of shots to seize the lead.
For his part, Stag’s Vincent Lumen delivered six points, and with the help of teammates Christian De Guzman and Whel Casaba, their team stayed within reach.
But Tax Pro’s Brian Natividad and Lerio unleashed a barrage of three-pointers during the last 10 minutes, sinking four and three buckets, respectively, to gain a double-digit advantage going into halftime, 54-39.
The second half was no different as Stag failed to get out of the gutter with only De Guzman and Lumen able to find the bottom of the net.
Tax Pro continued to capitalize off Stag’s misery with Frank Ferrer lighting up the early portion of the second half with 12 points while John Rizo and Jener Pineda added the icing on the cake with a total of five triples to lead their team to victory, 98-63.
Premier Builders vs Live 2 Live
Premier Builders also notched their fourth victory, outplaying Live 2 Live, 64-54.
It was Premier Builders’ first-half performance that gave them the edge thanks to the productivity of Richard Peredo with three triples and John Yanto who delivered six points for a comfortable 40-23 lead.
Although Live 2 Live picked up the pace during the second half, their rally was a bit too late as Premier Builders managed to stay afloat and rode the clock to secure the win.
