TOKAHAO is maintaining a steady path in the regular season of the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League after holding their own against SUFA, 6-5, at the Dandan baseball field on Sunday.

Tokahao drew first blood after Jeff Cruz drove in Alvin Takai. This was followed by an RBI single by Bruce Norita to give their team a 2-0 lead.

SUFA’s Audie Maratita retaliated with an RBI double in the bottom half, but Tokahao equalized with a single RBI courtesy of Dave Attao in the second inning. Cruz then hit a solo homerun in the top of the third while Takai added an RBI single in the top of the fifth to maintain the safe distance, 5-1.

In the sixth inning, SUFA allowed only one runner on base and no runs. On offense, they started to build momentum with the bases loaded after three successive hits. Mel Tenorio then hit a two-RBI single to reduce the deficit, 3-5.

Tokahao aimed to seal the deal with a single run in the top of the seventh and final inning. But SUFA continued to put up a fight with its first two batters running full circle and Maratita collecting two more RBIs.

Tokahao finally turned the tide with two consecutive outs and tagging Calvani Deleon Guerrero before he could reach second base for the third and final out that secured the win, 6-5.
